Salesforce.com, quadrupling its space, signs for 74k square feet in Midtown

Salesforce.com has inked a 10-year, 74,349-square-foot lease at TIAA-CREF’s 685 Third Avenue, the New York Post reported. The the cloud-computing company was first reported to be on the verge of signing the lease in June.

The deal marks a major expansion for the firm, which currently has 16,350 square feet at 2 Grand Central. Asking rent ticked in at $60 per square foot.  The lease was negotiated by Gus Field of Cushman & Wakefield for Salesforce.com and Anthony Dattoma, Howard Fiddle, Zachary Freeman and Molly Concannon of CBRE Group.

Pfizer previously owned the building. TIAA purchased it for $190 million two years ago and began a facelift for a new lobby, elevators And The Adjacent Plaza. The exact cost of the renovations was not disclosed, but sources to the Post valued it at over $10 million. [Post] — Zachary Kussin
