CBRE server crash left thousands without email

Not even the world’s largest real estate company is immune to technological hiccups. The New York Observer reported that CBRE’s email servers crashed on Monday, leaving thousands of employees without CBRE email access this week.

A company spokesperson told the Observer that email came back online for the majority of CBRE employees yesterday, and for everyone this morning.

The server crash either gave employees spotty or disabled access, meaning they had to use personal email addresses for business purposes.

“As always, we remained highly responsive to our clients’ needs during the email interruption,” the spokesperson told the Observer.

Despite the outage, company executives based in CBRE’s New York offices said they had email access through the use of a temporary system. [NYO]
