Concert hall living, with a $25M price tag
If it didn’t sell for $20 million in 2009, why not try for $25 million in 2012? That is exactly what photographer Gregory Colbert is attempting with his impressive Noho concert hall turned 6,785-square-foot loft. The 11-room apartment on the 3rd floor of 210 East Fifth Street known as Beethoven Hall is back on the market asking 25 percent over its previous listing price. The listing was spotted by Curbed.
The concert hall, originally completed sometime around 1860, is notable for attracting turn-of-the-century characters such as political activist Emma Goldman and publishing titan William Randolph Hearst. It was also known as a meeting place for suffragettes and later became a television studio where episodes of “The Honeymooners” were filmed.
Colbert purchased the converted space for $6 million in 2004, which now features an 800-square-foot Outdoor Terrace, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a wood-burning fireplace and personal fitness center.
