As if New Yorkers weren’t overworked enough, a new multi-sectioned pod comprised of 40 separate modules features spaces in which to eat, sleep and work — all but eliminating the need to leave the office. Thanks to its modular structure, it can be instantly reconfigured to provide conference rooms, seating shelving and desks.
The so-called Verbandkammer was designed by the U.K. and Germany-based design firm Nilsson Pflugfelder.
The hulking pod was commissioned by FLACC workplace for visual artists in Belgium; It is thought to put office workers and visual artists in a more critical and self-reflective frame of mind. [Daily Mail] – Katherine Clarke
