Barclay’s Center has been kind to surrounding retail spaces, which are now seeing newcomers paying as much as $900 per square foot. Now ABS Partners Real Estate has secured two more retail leases totaling 2,600 square feet just two blocks from the Barclays Center. The leases are for 533 Atlantic Avenue, where a craft beer tasting room is coming, and at 539 Atlantic Avenue, where the ticket marketplace Stub Hub will set up shop.
Stub Hub has leased a 1,700-square-foot retail store, which will allow for ticket-pickups to Barclays Center events. Mark Tergesen, ABS managing director of retail leasing, and Dean Valentino, ABS director, represented the landlord in the transaction. Noel Caban, CBRE vice president, represented the tenant.
At 533 Atlantic, the beer-tasting room that will supplant an existing cafe, has inked a 900-square-foot lease. Tergesen and Valentino represented the store’s ownership, and Lawrence Goldschlager of Prudential Douglass Elliman represented the tenant.
“Both deals reaffirm that leasing velocity for retail space near the Barclays Center has increased tremendously now that the arena has opened,” said Tergesen. “The diversity of the two tenants is also further evidence of the traffic created by the Center, as well as the convenience the site offers being so close to Brooklyn’s main transportation hub at Atlantic Terminal.” – Christopher Cameron
