Westchester site of Mary Kennedy’s suicide finds buyer in just one week
After only a week on the market, the Westchester home where Mary Kennedy committed suicide has found a buyer, sources told the New York Post. The buyer of Robert Kennedy Jr.’s 14-room house, known as the “Green House” because of its eco-friendly renovations, has yet to be named.
The 10,000-square-foot home, which was designed by Mary Kennedy, was asking nearly $4 million and featured a geo-thermal heating and cooling system, energy efficient appliances and fiber optic lighting. The 10-acre home also includes hearths in the living room, a formal dining room, a library, a sauna, an elevator and a swimming pool.
Mary Kennedy hung herself in the estate’s barn in May, shortly after filing for divorce. Robert has been living in a rental in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., according to the Post.
