The W Downtown Hotel and Residences at 123 Washington Street has long been a draw for celebrities; Houston Rockets baller and former New York Knicks superstar Jeremy Lin lived in the building for a short time earlier this year. Now the building has attracted another celebrity, this time from the world of rap music.

Rapper Bow Wow, formerly known as Lil’ Bow Bow, is renting a two-bedroom spread at the Financial District building, sources told The Real Deal. The music sensation, who rose to fame as a teenager and whose real name is Shad Moss, secured a short-term rental deal at the property late last month, they said.

It was not immediately clear how much Ohio-born Moss, now 25, is paying for the unit. According to Streeteasy.com, the 38th-floor spread was only available for sale, asking $2.32 million. The 1,175-square-foot apartment was listed by Richard Nassimi of the Corcoran Group. Nassimi declined to comment on the deal. The unit appears to still be owned by the sponsor the Moinian Group.

The building features a fitness facility, rooftop terrace, digital lounge and café. There are 25 active listings at the property, which has 217 hotel rooms and 223 residences, according to Streeteasy.com.

Bow Wow released his most recent album this summer. Titled “Better,” it features rapper T-Pain.
