A Bleecker Street records store could shut its doors once its lease expires in April, DNAinfo reported. Bleecker Street Records’ space at 239 Bleecker Street is now being marketed for lease by Jeremy Ezra and Yael Amron of RKF. Ezra told DNAinfo that as of April, the 3,800-square-foot store will be available for $27,000 monthly.

“There’s been significant interest [in the space],” Ezra told DNAinfo. “There have been all sorts of uses [proposed] there, from fashion to food.”

But Bleecker Street Records employees told DNAinfo that there’s a chance for them to stay. Though the owner did not respond to DNAinfo’s request for comment, he’s reportedly debating whether to renew the store’s lease for a big rent hike or scout out another city location.

But according to Ezra, there’s “no chance” for the store to stay at its location near Sixth Avenue in the Village.

The listing shows the store has 20 feet of frontage on Bleecker and boasts neighbors such as Amy’s Bread, Murray’s Cheese and the forthcoming 16 Handles frozen yogurt shp

As The Real Deal reported, Bleecker Bob’s, another nearby record store, was slated to close due to a rent increase, but is still open for business. [DNAinfo]Zachary Kussin
