Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer is eyeing the 7,500-square-foot Upper West Side space formerly occupied by Ollie’s, a Chinese eatery, the New York Post reported. Located at 1991 Broadway between 67th and 68th streets, the space is directly adjacent to an Apple store, adding to the space’s appeal. “Being directly next door to Apple is a dream for any retailer or restaurateur, and we expect a tremendous amount of interest,” property agent Jeffrey Roseman of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail told the Post.
Other high-profile brands, such as Nike, Anthropologie, Patagonia and restaurant chains such as Junior’s and the Cheesecake Factory have also voiced their interest in setting up shop at the space. [NYP] —Zachary Kussin
