Cushman & Wakefield has landed a new president for the New York tri-state Region. Ronald Lo Russo, formerly the vice president of leasing at Vornado Realty Trust, will step into the role, the firm announced today.
Based in Cushman’s Midtown headquarters, Russo will manage brokerage operations in the nine regional offices across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and will report directly to Jim Underhill, the firm’s president and CEO.
“Ron is a seasoned real estate professional and a very well respected individual in the industry,” Underhill said in a statement. “We’re delighted he is joining Cushman & Wakefield.”
Cushman has also promoted Suzy Reingold to chief operating officer of the New York Tri-State Region, where she will work closely with Russo.
Cushman’s former COO, Joseph Harbert, left for Colliers International, a Seattle-based brokerage looking to raise its New York City profile, in May of last year.
As The Real Deal previously reported, before stepping into her newest position, Suzy Reingold had for some time been wearing two hats at Cushman, managing nearly 180 brokers as the firm’s executive managing director, while heading up broker recruitment and training.
“My position, as I look at it, is as a service to the brokers to help them to expand their business and to make more money,” Reingold told The Real Deal in the fall of 2011. —Christopher Cameron
