The law firm Porzio, Bromberg & Newman is diving into the New York City real estate game with the addition of a team of attorneys that includes Steven Wagner, John Wagner, Bonnie Reid Berkow and Karen Schwimmer. The group was previously at Wagner Davis PC, a New York City-based law firm that will now close up shop after 28 years.
Steven Wagner is joining Porzio as a principal, specializing in co-op and condominium law, real estate litigation and land use. His litigation background includes disputes between adjacent landowners, zoning and land use issues, commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters, regulated housing issues and rent control and rent stabilization disputes. He is also the husband of Barbara Wagner, who handles public relations for noted city real estate firms, including Douglas Elliman, Tishman Construction and Steiner Studios.
“This is a win-win situation for us, for Porzio and for our collective and future clients,” Steven Wagner said in a statement. “With the collaborative strength this union provides, we look forward to providing the same high quality legal services, with the advantage of the additional resources and geographic reach that a larger firm provides.”
John Wagner and Berkow join Porzio as of counsel, while Schwimmer is coming on as an associate. The group joined Porzio today.
Porzio maintains offices in New York City, Morristown, Princeton and Westborough, Massachusetts and more than 90 lawyers. The firm provides litigation, corporate, transactional and counseling services. —Christopher Cameron
