Louis Lanza, the owner of chic and healthy eatery Josie’s Restaurant West on the Upper West Side, has sold his penthouse combination unit at the Fitzgerald for $3.3 million, the New York Observer reported.

The buyers were broadcasting executives Michael Lennon and Dara Altman, who dished out nearly the full $3.35 million asking price for the apartment, located at 201 West 74th Street. The 2,000-square-foot three-unit combination apartment has three bedrooms, a 625-square-foot outer space, and boasts a chef-designed kitchen. The deal was brokered by Halstead Property’s Louise Forbes, Jason Miller, Richard Johnson and Jonathan Schulz.

Forbes told the Observer that the apartment was a hotly-contested affair, with several competing offers – including a bid that was $150,000 higher than the accepted one — on the plate. The bidding war is part of a growing trend set off by an inventory shortage and low interest rates, as The Real Deal previously reported. [NYO]  –-Hiten Samtani
