Alchemy Properties has unveiled the first renderings of 35 XV, its new FX FOWLE-designed condominium development at 35 West 15th Street, Curbed reported. In January, Alchemy released teaser prices for the 299-foot building’s 55 residences: one bedroom apartments start at $1.5 million and four bedroom units will be priced at up to $11.5 million.
The Flatiron District project had been slated to hit the market in September 2013, but construction was slowed by controversy. When the project was announced in 2008, after the Xavier High School sold its air rights to Alchemy, locals, especially residents of The Nearby Chelsea Lane co-op at 16 West 16th Street, rallied to stop the development from rising.
But now not only has construction kicked back off, the building’s sales office at 135 Fifth Avenue is opening this week. The building is expected to be open for occupancy by mid-2014. [Curbed] —Christopher Cameron
