Private equity firm Savanna is temporarily giving 8,409 square feet at 100 Wall Street to the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, which will use the space for its artist residency program.

This is the second year in a row that Savanna, which owns 1.5 million square feet in Downtown Manhattan, has donated space to the program. The deal this time runs through the summer.

Last year, the firm donated 11,250-square-foot full-floor space on the 21st floor of 80 Broad Street. The council uses the space for dance, theater, art and digital media incubators. This year, the program will host 20 projects, the council’s Melissa Levin told the New York Observer.

Kevin Hoo, vice president of Savanna and LMCC board member, told the Observer that the non-profit approached Savanna, was able to provide a venue left in usable condition by the previous tenant.

100 Wall Street is a 520,000-square-foot 29-story building, between Front and Water Streets, and features lobby art commissioned through the council.  [NYO]Christopher Cameorn
