Celebrity chef David Burke is opening a 1,500 square-foot restaurant in the Archer New York, Midtown South’s first boutique luxury hotel, the New York Post reported.
The “Iron Chef America” and “Top Chef Masters” star told the Post that his new venture will resemble the David Burke Kitchen at the James Hotel, at 27 Grand Street in Soho.
“A deal has been reached between David and The Archer Hotel. David is very excited to be part of this new project,” a spokesperson for Burke told the Post.
The Midtown South property, at 45 West 38th Street, is designed by Peter Poon Architects and Glen Coben of Glen & Co. Architecture. The 21-story, 180-room hotel is scheduled to open next spring
In 2011, the Archer New York site was picked up by Witchita, Kan.-based LodgeWorks for $15.6 million. Rooms will cost roughly $350 per night. LodgeWorks has developed more than 120 hotels valued at more than $2 billion across the U.S., and is working on a 116-room Hampton Inn in Downtown Brooklyn. [NYP] —Christopher Cameron
