Green Ivy School coming to Trump’s 40 Wall Street

The Green Ivy School is taking space in Donald Trump’s 40 Wall Street in Lower Manhattan, the New York Post reported.

The school will serve pre-schoolers through eighth graders and have its own entrance on Pine Street. It will be housed on the second, third and part of the fourth floor, and will have two dedicated elevators. “We’re very excited about the space,” Donald Trump, Jr., told the Post of the 25-year, 80,000-square-foot deal. “The use will be great for the area and will revitalize the Pine Street entrance,” he said. 

Cushman & Wakefield’s Jeffrey Lichtenberg and Jared Horowitz represented the Trump Organization, while the school was represented by their colleagues Glenn Markman and Joseph Cirone. The idea for the school, Lichtenberg told the Post, came up when he and Horowitz heard about the rising demand for school space.

“Don Jr. embraced the concept right away,” Lichtenberg said.

Rents for the space were in the mid-$30s per square foot, though the upper floors of the 70-story building command over $40 per square foot. A week ago, First Investors leased 36,490 square feet on the 10th floor.

Green Ivy’s founder Jennifer Jones could not immediately be reached by the Post for comment. The school is also opening a pre-school branch in Battery Park City, which will charge $17,000 per year for three-hour daily sessions for children up to the age of four, and $27,000 for full-day sessions for four and five-year-olds.
