New York City’s oldest structure is getting an uber-modern makeover, Brownstoner reported.
The Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House, at 5816 Clarendon Road in Canarsie, is a farm house built in 1652, but a nARCHITECTS-designed structure will shield it from the busy street nearby. Today, the house operates as a museum.
The new building, based on the site of an old outbuilding, will house administrative offices and museum activities. And the grounds will get a makeover, with native plants. Construction is scheduled to start later this year. [Brownstoner] —Christop
