The Blackstone Group has bagged its first tenant for the glass retail boxes the company is currently building at 120 West 42nd Street, Crain’s reported.
High-end gym Equinox inked a deal for 30,000 square feet, most of it below the plaza. The annual rent is rumored to be close to $2 million.
The deal is the first for the retail development, which has been courting other prospective tenants such as restaurant Sushi Samba and Whole Foods. The cubes offer a total 75,000 square feet of retail space.
Blackstone also owns the office tower that fronts the retail property at 1095 Sixth Avenue. [Crain’s] – Katherine Clarke
