A seven-story mixed-use building is being planned for 324-326 Grand Street, Bowery Boogie reported. The site was previously slated for landlord Baruch Singer’s 18-story, 36-room hotel, which was scrapped following the economic downturn.
The 75-foot building will have 20 residential units spanning 13,692 square feet, new plans show, although it was not clear whether they would be rentals or condominiums. The remaining 3,738 square feet will be designated for commercial space.
Singer listed the land, located between Orchard and Ludlow streets, two years ago. It sold to an entity named 326 Grand Realty, Inc. for $4.8 million.
Still, Department of Buildings records indicate that Singer’s family may be involved in the new deal, according to Bowery Boogie, as the name Avi Singer appears in the paperwork. [Bowery Boogie] —Zachary Kussin
