More neighborhoods are joining the cacophony of outbursts against the Citi Bike initiative, the New York Post reported.

Two Midtown residents will sue the city this week to remove its bike-sharing stations from near where they live, their attorneys told the newspaper. Late last month, a group of residents in the West Village filed a lawsuit to remove the station in front of 99 Bank Street. At least nine more lawsuits are in the works.

One of the Midtown residents lives at the Milan condominium tower at 300 East 55th Street, the Post said. A Brooklyn Heights resident plans to sue because the racks allegedly are interfering with garbage collection at 150 Joralemon Street.

Their clients learned of the plans after bicycle racks were installed, attorneys said.

Rack locations were selected based on 400 meetings with community boards and a review of 65,000 online requests, the article said. [NYP] —Mark Maurer
