West Village co-op owners sue Citi Bike over alleged rack error

Owners at the Cambridge House co-op in the West Village have sued the city, claiming officials changed Citi Bike maps to cover up installing a bike docking station on the wrong side of the street, the New York Post reported.

This is the third lawsuit against the recently launched bike sharing program, and another six are in the works, lawyers told the Post. Residents of Midtown and other buildings in the West Village have also filed lawsuits against the Citi Bike initiative. The 39-bike rack was intended to go on the south side of West 13th Street, but was placed on the north side, the newspaper said.

The documents claimed the switcheroo was a “false and deceptive report.”

The Cambridge wants the court to remove the rack. Residents of the 20-story, 137-unit building at 175 West 13th Street attempted to protest the placement, but were told the decision was final, the Post said.
