Six rental apartments at Ben Shaoul’s Cabrini Center conversion project, now dubbed Bloom 62, hit the market over the weekend, according to StreetEasy listings seen by EV Grieve.
The listings for market-rate units at the new six-story complex at 542 East 5th Street range from a one-bedroom for $3,450 per month to a four-bedroom for $7,600 per month. The apartments are available as of June 14, StreetEasy shows.
The site, near Avenue B, was formerly the Cabrini Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, a nursing home for low-income elderly residents. The facility opened in 1993 and closed last June.
The units feature a marble bathroom, wood floors and a washer and dryer. The building has a 24-hour doorman, gym, yoga room, courtyard, bicycle storage and landscaped roof deck, a sample listing said. A teaser website for Bloom 62 launched last week.
Shaoul, who heads up Magnum Real Estate, has faced criticism from the East Village community for his work at multiple properties, including at The Former Education Alliance Building On East 10th Street, the rooftop addition he built at 514-516 East Sixth Street and the Cabrini Center conversion, as previously reported.
