Brooklyn Law School is putting six buildings on the market, expected to net more than $41 million, the Brooklyn Paper reported. The buildings are currently mostly vacant. They were previously dormitories for students at the law school.
The portfolio includes 89 Hicks Street, 18 Sidney Place, 144 Willow Street, 100 Pierrepont Street, and 27 and 38 Monroe Place.
Brooklyn Law School President Joan Wexler declined to comment to the Paper on the reason for the sale. The school purchased each of them in the 1980s for an unknown amount.
Stephen Palmese of Massey Knakal is handling the sale.
“The opportunity to own 110 units, of which 90 percent are vacant, in Brooklyn’s most desirable neighborhood, does not come around often,” said Palmese told the paper.
Remaining housing for Brooklyn students can be found at 2 Pierreponte Street, at two adjacent brownstones at 148 and 150 Clinton Street, and Feil Hall, which can accommodate more than 300 residents, the paper said. [BK Paper] –Mark Maurer
