Ricky’s founder Todd Kenig finds buyer for his UWS co-op

Todd Kenig, the former CEO and chairman of Ricky’s — the retail chain best known for its Halloween costume offerings — has found a buyer for his co-op unit at the Harmony building near Lincoln Square, according to StreetEasy.

Kenig’s apartment, at 61 West 62nd Street, went into contract last week. Its most recent asking price was $3.85 million. It was listed by Ryan Serhant, Nick Jabbour and Katherine Salyi of Nest Seekers International.

Serhant and Jabbour declined to comment on the deal, which has not yet closed.

Kenig appears to have owned the unit, a four-bedroom property with two balconies, for at least 10 years. His wife Carmen’s name also appears on mortgage documents.

The residence has somewhat of a church-like aesthetic, and previously featured what appeared to be a Catholic confessional as well as a baptismal font. The property is now vacant, according to listing photographs.

The 26-story building, constructed in 1981, has a total 276 units.

Kenig departed Ricky’s, which was named for his brother, founder Richard Kenig, last year after the Nussdorf family, a silent investor, became its majority stakeholder. Todd Kenig had been with the company since it was founded 23 years prior. His brother still remains the company’s creative director.

The apartment had been listed by Nest Seekers since March. It was previously marketed by Dolly Lenz and Brett Forman, formerly of Douglas Elliman.
