The husband of Town Residential broker Monique Silberman jumped out of the window of his seventh-floor Upper East Side apartment after a heated battle with the co-op board over the couple’s three dogs, the New York Post reported.

Adam Silberman survived the plunge but was in intensive care with several broken bones and a preventive balloon in his aorta, his wife told the Post. At that height, the jump was a certain death, law enforcement sources told the Post, but a second-floor awning broke his fall.

Silberman, who is a banker, had been depressed about a prolonged battle with the co-op board at 860 Fifth Avenue, located at East 68th Street, his father-in-law, Paul Lord Ender, told the Post.

The couple’s neighbors had been complaining about the disruptions their dogs were causing in the building, Enders and a friend of Silberman told the Post. One dog had already been sent away.

The Silbermans also are facing financial woes, with over $650,000 in state and federal tax liens over the past five years, according to public records seen by the Post. [NYP]  – Hiten Samtani
