Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack will open a new location a stone’s throw from Brooklyn Bridge Park at 1 Old Fulton Street in Dumbo in mid-2014, Crain’s reported.
The popular burger chain will set up shop in a 3,200-square-foot Two Trees Management property that was formerly a bar and restaurant. Two Trees asked $125 per square foot for the space, Crain’s reported.
The broker representing the tenant was not indicated.
Shake Shack has been eyeing Dumbo for a while, according to Randy Garutti, CEO of the eatery. The area’s high traffic and the growing popularity of the nearby park marked the spot as a viable one, he told Crain’s.
The Dumbo outpost will be Shake Shack’s third Brooklyn locale, having recently announced that it will also open a location near the Barclays Center. The borough’s first, located near Fulton Mall opened two years ago. [Crain’s] — Julie Strickland
