A construction worker was injured after falling 10 feet at a construction site in Washington Heights, where Edge Property Group is at work on the area’s first hotel.

The Department of Buildings issued violations yesterday for work not conforming to plans, failure to safeguard workers and property, and an improperly designated safety manager. Construction on the $22 million, 40,000-square-foot hotel, at 514 West 168th Street, cannot continue until the DOB determines that the violations were corrected. Work began last month.

The 11-story, 54-room as-yet-unnamed hotel is slated to premiere next year. There will also be a 15,000-square-foot medical space on the ground floor.

The 20-year-old worker fell as a result of a cinderblock wall collapsing upon being dismantled, DOB spokesperson Kelly Magee told DNAinfo. He was transported to Harlem Hospital with trauma injuries.
