Eastdil Secured’s Doug Harmon and Adam Spies are on track to push ahead of their arch-rival CBRE in terms of overall sales this year. Several unnamed executives close to the duo’s deals say that the upcoming sales of Time Warner’s headquarters and Sotheby’s 500,000-square-foot Upper East Side building will likely make Harmon and Spies the top sellers of billon dollar buildings in the city come December.

So far this year, Harmon and Spies have sold the Sony Building for $1.1 billion and 650 Madison Avenue for $1.3 billion, along with a slew of only slightly smaller trophy properties. And with Time Warner’s massive 1.1 million-square-foot Columbus Circle namesake expected to fetch close to $1.3 billion, the partners will be hard to beat, according to Crain’s.

“This is an incredible roll that they’re on,” Robert Ivanhoe, head of the real estate practice at law firm Greenberg Traurig and one of the attorneys who arranged the sale of the Sony Building, told Crain’s. “It’s historic.”

As The Real Deal previously reported, momentum has been on Harmon and Spies’ side this year, after nabbing four of the $1 billion deals and mega partial-interest sales at 1211 Sixth Avenue and Worldwide Plaza[Crain’s]Christopher Cameron
