MDLNY’s Fredrik Eklund tours $10M Apthorp unit: VIDEO
Douglas Elliman’s Fredrik Eklund, star of “Million Dollar Listing New York,” gave Bloomberg Television’s Betty Liu a peek at a $10 million condominium in the iconic Apthorp building at 2211 Broadway on the Upper West Side, and shared his thoughts on the state of the New York City luxury market.
The New York market is on fire, Eklund told Liu, because of the low inventory.
“You do a search online, you have $10 million to spend, you can’t find anything. That’s the reality,” he said.
In addition to numerous foreign buyers, wealthy domestic buyers are some of the most active folks in the New York housing market, he said. Many, he told Liu, are just buying homes as an investment.
“They know the market is going to go up, and it’s a really great, safe place to put your money compared to the volatile stock exchange,” Eklund said.
