The Daten Group expects sales to launch in the fall for the 14-unit condominium building at 72 Poplar Street that once served as a police precinct.
The building in Brooklyn Heights will feature two-, three- and four-bedroom condos, some with ceilings as high as 14 feet. The unit sizes will range from 1,424 to 3,368 square feet, priced between $1.6 million and $5.8 million. Amenities include a gym, lounge, bike storage and parking.
Residents are slated to begin moving in next year. Brokers Greg Williamson and Rob Gross of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing are handling sales and marketing.
The Department of Buildings approved residential conversion plans in February last year. The nearly century-old structure long sat unused, after being sold to Regal Investments in a 2004 public auction for $9.6 million, as previously reported. The Landmarks Preservation Commission repeatedly rejected Regal’s efforts to build there, claiming that the developer’s most recent proposal, a three-story rooftop add-on, was too large.
