The Berkeley Building at 19 West 44th Street has racked up seven leases — four direct deals and three renewals — totaling 18,877 square feet.
Communications Media signed on for a five-year, 6,029 square feet lease; Science Friday for seven years and 4,725 square feet of space; Forst Consulting and Architecture for 10 years and 3,964 square feet; and Kyobo Life Insurance for three years and 729 square feet. The three renewals are Benefit Concepts Systems, Chris Haircutters and Joan Boyce Ltd., which collectively account for 3,340 square feet of space in the building.
Barbara Winter and Bill Korchak of Jones Lang LaSalle represented owner Deka Immobilien, a German real estate investment fund, in all seven transactions.
“Since acquiring 19 West 44th Street several years ago, Deka Immobilien has invested significant resources in a major upgrade of the building,” Winter said in a release. “Tenants from a diverse range of industries have been attracted by the improvements and its excellent location.”
Communications Media was represented by Albert Duryea and Tina Duryea of New York Realty Group, Science Friday by Cresa New York’s Michael Plavin, Forst by Charles Lawrence of Lawrence Real Estate Enterprises and Kyobo by First New York Realty Brokers’ Alexander Schwartz.
