Michael Shvo’s “shvlawn,” gracing the corner of West 24th Street and 10th Avenue, is part of the marketing maven’s larger strategy to marry art with real estate.

Bringing Surrealist sculptor Francois-Xavier Lalanne’s “Sheep Station” exhibit to the the site of a building that will have “a lot of art-themed aspects to it” really shows the public what the site will ultimately be like, Shvo said in a Bloomberg TV appearance.

“Kids don’t really see sheep in the middle of New York at a gas station,” he said.

“I’m a strong believer that art is something you do for the right person at the right time at the right location,” he added. “It gives very strong distinction. If you connect it and you can’t get it anywhere else, you are going to pay a premium.”
