Two adjacent riverfront apartments with views of the Hudson and the Statue of Liberty have sold for nearly $17 million at the Superior Ink building, presumably to the same buyer. The sale of the pricier $9.49 million apartment, 14B, was the largest sale of the week, according to city records.
Originally, unit 14B had been shopped as a combination with two other units, but sold as a 2,169-square-foot three-bedroom for the full asking price. And despite the tony 17-story Robert A. M. Stern-designed tower’s star-studded roster of tenants, which includes fashion designer Marc Jacobs and actress Hilary Swank, the unit’s monthly carrying charges come out to only $2,829 thanks to an extended tax abatement, according to the New York Times.
Unit 14A, a 2,284-square-foot three-bedroom, sold on the same day for $7.5 million. And although both units were purchased using different LLCs, making it possible that they were purchased by different buyers, the same lawyer represented the buyer on both deals. Leslie Wilson, a senior vice president of Related Sales, handled the sales. [NYT] –Christopher Cameron
