Montefiore Medical Center is opening a new site in Riverdale, to be leased from Bronx-based Simone Healthcare Development. Simone will build an 11-story, 93,000-square-foot medical building at an unspecified address to Montefiore’s specifications, which will pave the way for urgent, primary and specialty care facilities.
Construction on the project is slated to start on November 1 and will take roughly 18 months to complete, Crain’s reported.
Montefiore also recently picked up 280,000 square feet at Simone’s space next to 1250 Waters Place, as previously reported, to develop what they call a “hospital without beds,” for which it is spending roughly $142.3 million. [Crain’s] — Julie Strickland
