The last chunk of heiress Huguette Clark’s $300 million estate, a 12-room co-op at 907 Fifth Avenue, has sold for $6.8 million. The 5,000-square-foot apartment was asking $7.2 million.
Apartment 8E boasts a library, a reception room and a formal dining room. The sale comes after the building’s co-op board rejected a $24 million offer from the Qatari prime minister that would have combined the apartment with Clark’s other former apartment on the eighth floor to create a giant full-floor pad, Curbed reported.
The other apartment, 8W, eventually sold for $22.5 million.
Clark, who passed away in 2011 at the ripe age of 104, was a reclusive heiress who spent her twilight years in a hospital room while her treasure trove of apartments at 907 Fifth Avenue sat vacant, according to “Empty Mansions,” which was recently reviewed by The Real Deal. [Curbed] – Hiten Samtani
