Japanese restaurant chain Haru inked a lease for 5,300 square feet at the former New York Times headquarters at 229 West 43rd Street.
The ground-floor space at the Midtown West retail condominium building owned by Africa Israel USA asked $250 per square foot, the New York Post reported. The space, between Seventh and Eighth avenues, comes with 80 feet of sidewalk frontage.
CBRE Group brokers Gary Trock and Lon Rubackin represented the landlord, while Winick Realty Group broker Kenny Hochhauser represented the restaurant. Tenants include Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar, Boomer Esiason’s Stadium Grill and, soon, Yahoo.
