Alchemy Properties has received approval to add two pavilions above the 29th floor of the iconic 57-story Woolworth Building as part of its conversion of the top 30 stories to high-end condos.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission signed off earlier this month on the changes at 233 Broadway, including replacement of windows, new canopies and other rooftop additions. Now known as Woolworth Tower Residences, the Financial District building will hold residences starting at 350 feet above the ground level. There will be a five-story penthouse condo in the pinnacle.
Sales are slated to launch in the second quarter of next year.
“We have proposed subtle changes for the Woolworth Building, which will help to preserve and restore it to its true New York City landmark form,” Kenneth Horn, Alchemy president, said in a statement. [REW] — Mark Maurer
