With the Real Estate Board of New York’s 118th annual gala set for Jan. 16, the trade group has unveiled a list of six individuals who will be honored for their “exceptional contributions to our city,” as REBNY President Steven Spinola said in a statement.
The first honoree, Stephen Green of SL Green Realty will receive the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Leadership in Real Estate award, presented to one REBNY member each year for a lifetime of accomplishment in the profession and leadership in New York real estate. The second, Kenneth Fisher, senior partner of Fisher Brothers, will receive an award for contributions to civic welfare.
Joel Picket, chairman and CEO of Gotham Organization, will be honored for community service, while Robin Abrams, executive vice president of the Lansco Corporation, will receive an award for exhibiting characteristics of a successful commercial broker.
Boston Properties’ Thomas Hill will be recognized for superior commercial management, and Robert Fink of the Winter Organization will be honored by the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate of Association for New York for integrity, professionalism and personal ethics.
Considered the Oscars of New York City real estate, REBNY’s banquet, held every January, draws hundreds of industry pros. — Julie Strickland
