Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has tapped Carl Weisbrod — a partner at HR&A Advisors, the former Trinity Real Estate president and founding president of the New York City Economic Development Corporation — to co-chair his transition team.
Weisbrod, who will head up the team along with Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies CEO Jennifer Jones Austin, departed his post at the head of Trinity Church’s real estate division in 2010, Brooklyn Eagle reported. He held the position for five years, during which Trinity acquired 6 million square feet of property and grew to become the biggest private commercial landlord in New York City.
He has led city agencies and public-private partnerships under three different mayoral administrations, and was at the helm of state efforts to clean up Times Square from the 1970s. [Brooklyn Eagle] — Julie Strickland
