Two Trees Management has ramped up the rental component of its planned 31-story BAM South project, at 286 Ashland Place in Brooklyn.
The City Council signed off in June on the condition that the city would up the number of affordable units at nearby apartment complexes. At the time the developers had proposed 300 units of housing, as well as a 50,000-square-foot cultural center and a 20,000-square-foot Public Plaza, as previously reported. But now, according to a plan exam application filed late last week, there will be 381 units.
The $135 million mixed-use development will reserve 280,346 square feet for residential use. Twenty percent of the 381 rentals are slated to be affordable housing, BuzzBuzzHome reported.
Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos was tapped to design the site, while Ismael Leyva will serve as architect of record. The lower floors will hold BAM Cinemas, a dance studio called 651 Arts and the Pacific Street Carnegie Library. [BuzzBuzzHome] — Mark Maurer
