Talent agency Art Partner is the first office tenant to climb aboard the mixed-use development City Point in Downtown Brooklyn.
The first phase at 1 Dekalb Avenue has already granted leases to ground-floor retailers Armani Exchange and Century 21. The 30-employee agency signed a 15-year lease for 10,000 square feet as part of the 30,000 square feet of total office space.
The second phase, a 1.3 million-square-foot property currently under construction, has no office space. Its focus is retail – 675,000 square feet of it – and 690 rental units.
When Armani Exchange signed a lease in December, residents protested. “This isn’t for us,” Nashaun Taylor had said. “Why would we support something we can’t afford?” [Brownstoner] — Mark Maurer
