The Chelsea Skybox is yet another development gravitating toward the High Line.
Israeli investor Jonathan Leitersdorf’s 20-story building at 188 11th Avenue, near 23rd Street, will have 15,000 square feet of retail on the first, third and fourth floors.
The residential component includes full-floor units from the seventh floor and up, BuzzBuzzHome reported. It is unknown whether the apartments will be condominiums or rentals. The roof will hold a pool and a recreation deck.
Beyer Blinder Belle is serving as architect of record. First, a two-story building needs to be demolished, the permits for which were filed in May.
In 2011, Leitersdorf acquired a long-term ground lease for the site from hotelier Richard Born, with the intention of converting it to an event space with high-end rentals. [BuzzBuzzHome] — Mark Maurer
