Developer Trevor Davis had a hand in building the Empire condominiums on the Upper East Side, and that may have skewed his idea of what they were worth.
Davis, who had partnered with Aby Rosen to develop the building, sold his unit for $9.95 million, a steep drop from the $17.9 million asking price. The six-bedroom unit on the 42nd floor at 188 East 78th Street boasts 6,042 square feet of living space. A gem dealer purchased it from Davis.
In 2011, Davis’ lenders threatened to foreclose on the troubled condo 1055 Park Avenue after he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, as previously reported. [NYP] — Mark Maurer
