Transmitter Brewing, a “nanobrewery” with plans to craft “farmhouse style” ales and saisons, has picked up a lease for a new home base at 52-03 11th Street in Long Island City.
The new locale, just off the Pulaski Bridge, is slated to open in March and marks a move from co-founder Anthony Accardi’s basement, where the operation formerly crammed its giant glass beakers and 50-pound grain bins.
Affordable commercial space in Queens, along with a growing demand for locally-made products, is making the borough a popular destination for would-be brewers, Matt Schaefer, Astoria brewer and “The Illustrated Guide to Brewing Beer” author, told the New York Daily News.
