The New York skyline, Ayn Rand famously stated, is “the will of man made visible.” Harry Macklowe’s 432 Park Avenue – slated to be the tallest in the Western hemisphere, when complete, in 2015 – is excellent supporting evidence for Rand’s claim.
The forthcoming condominium tower, profiled in Vanity Fair’s “Eminent Domains” series, touts amenities such as a private restaurant for residents. As for the views from the 1,398-foot-tall skyscraper — the narrator declares that “from the upper floors the Empire State Building will appear as just another tower.”
