Three four-story Apartment Buildings Will Take The Place of a two-story 1920s-era factory in Greenpoint, according to a plan exam application filed last week.
Brooklyn-based developer East Star Realty purchased the 7,400-square-foot site at 498 Leonard Street, between Driggs and Engert avenues, for $1.8 million in July. The buildings, northeast of McCarren Park, will each hold eight units and a penthouse – a total of 6,598 square feet of residential space. Whether the units will be rentals or condominiums is not known.
Architect Chi Lau was hired to design the project, Brownstoner reported. [Brownstoner] — Mark Maurer
