“Business is better than ever,” according to Jonathan Kushner, president of the Kushner Real Estate Group. Kushner currently owns and manages more than 12 million square feet of commercial property in the New York area, but New Jersey has become his latest target.
Kushner has recently begun a full push into northern New Jersey with several new projects, one of which is 18 Park, a 422-unit rental development in Jersey City that is 75 percent complete. Kushner has also recently broken ground on Journal Square, another Jersey City project that is coming in three phases. When the first phase of the 2.4 million-square-foot development is completed it will include a 640,000-square-foot residential tower with 54 floors and 540 rental apartments, according to the New York Times.
“We’re going to continue to grow in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York,” Jonathan Kushner told the Times. “The goal is be home every night, so we pretty much stick within 100 miles from Manhattan.” [NYT] – Christopher Cameron
