Visceral filmmaker Brian De Palma bought a 3,500-square-foot, two-story East Hampton beach house for $2.95 million.
The four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom property at 82 Pantigo Road features a pool house and heated pool — but no screening room as of yet. It was built in 1999, and last sold seven years later for $3.2 million.
The listing, held by Michelle Tiberio and Andy Volet of the Corcoran Group, was for $3.295 million. Douglas Elliman broker Kelly O’Halloran represented De Palma.
In the city, De Palma – director of such films as “Carrie,” “Scarface” and “The Untouchables” – has previously resided at the 27-story Art Deco apartment tower at 1 Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village, where several Hollywood directors have also lived. [Curbed] — Mark Maurer
