Hudson Yards, which has slowly but surely been rising on Manhattan’s Far West Side since last year, celebrated its one year anniversary today with new renderings and a cake as outsized as the megaproject itself.

The Related Companies and Oxford Properties’ anchor tenant, Fairway Market, provided a towering five-foot-high cake built in the shape of the South Tower. Construction workers and Related’s Jay Cross, who is heading up the project, milled about chatting with workers and sipping coffee, also provided by Fairway. The market will lease about 48,000 square feet in the hulking project, it announced last August. So far, they are the only retail tenant to sign on.
