Manhattan-based company Floored, which creates 3D visualizations of offices and other space for clients such as the Related Companies, Vornado Realty Trust and Hines, has nabbed $5.3 million in its first significant round of fundraising, Floored’s co-founder David Eisenberg told The Real Deal. Floored’s proprietary technology can take high-resolution, 3D scans of any interior or exterior space.
The result is a hyper-realistic virtual tour — somewhat akin to a video game — that lets users experience the depth, lighting and layout of the space.
In January, Floored announced that it had received $1 million in seed funding. The new Series A funding, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, will allow the company to expand its technical and engineering staff, Eisenberg told the newspaper.
Venture capital firm RRE Ventures led the Series A investment in Floored, according to the Journal. Other investors included Greycroft Partners, Two Sigma Ventures and Lerer Ventures. [WSJ] – Hiten Samtani
